Ava R-I School District

It is the goal of the Ava R-I School District to provide each student with an education that will prepare them for a successful future. High expectations, collaborative efforts among stakeholders, and a belief that all children can learn are philosophies we deem vital in advancing our positive learning community. Unwavering dedication of a close rural community, which focuses on the betterment of children, has been the catalyst in creating outstanding schools within the district. 

We would like to think that Ava is one of the best-kept secrets in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri, especially when it comes to the education of our students.  On the state level, the district has been recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary (DESE) and awarded the prestigious Distinction in Performance for five consecutive years, beginning with the 2005-2006 school year. 

Education is continuing to evolve and improve, as the United States ranks atop the world in competitiveness and innovative thinking.  This correlates with the heightened accountability and rigorous coursework that does not always end at the classroom door.  Therefore, it is our goal to create a school community that is a learning community, which fosters partnerships and relationships with those involved for the betterment of our most valuable assets, our children!
